Built a focused, role-based bug tracking system that keeps Project Managers, Developers, and QA aligned with clean assignment workflows and scoped visibility.
Small development teams often adopt heavyweight issue trackers that add process overhead without matching their actual workflow needs. I built a purpose-built bug management system designed around three distinct roles — Project Manager, Developer, and QA — with assignment-driven visibility that keeps everyone focused on their work.
The platform follows a clear workflow: Project Managers create projects and assign specific Developers and QA engineers to each one. Assigned team members see only their own projects — eliminating noise from unrelated work and reducing context-switching.
Developers log and update bugs; QA engineers verify fixes and manage test status. This scoped visibility model mirrors how small agile teams actually operate.
Technical implementation covers role-based authentication, project CRUD with assignment logic, bug lifecycle management (open → in progress → resolved → verified), and filtered dashboards per role.
Reduced workflow noise by showing team members only their assigned projects
Streamlined PM → Developer → QA assignment chain
Demonstrated role-based access control in a practical team tool
Delivered a lightweight alternative to heavyweight enterprise trackers
